Residents of Owa Onire in Kwara State are raising alarms about a worsening security crisis after armed bandits attacked the community on Saturday night, killing one person and kidnapping two others.
This attack comes just two weeks after two other residents from the same community were released following ransom payments.
Locals feel their small community is being ignored by the media and authorities, which they say has emboldened the criminals to launch attacks with increasing confidence.
The insecurity is not isolated, as contractors working on a nearby road project were also recently abducted. The Kwara State Police Command has not yet commented on the incident.
