Abdallah Wali, a former senator and diplomat from Sokoto, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ending an association that spanned over two decades.
In a resignation letter dated December 31, 2025, and addressed to his ward chairman in Tambuwal Local Government Area, Wali announced that his departure from the party and all its organs was with immediate effect.
While thanking the PDP for the opportunities it provided him to serve the country, he also expressed deep gratitude to his supporters for their “invaluable” loyalty for over a quarter of a century. As of now, the veteran politician has not indicated his next political move.
His resignation follows a similar exit by another long-serving party member, former senator Gilbert Nnaji, who recently left the PDP after 27 years, suggesting a potential trend of departures by the party’s old guard.
