Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf met with President Bola Tinubu on Monday to discuss the state’s security and infrastructure priorities.
The closed-door meeting focused on worsening insecurity in some local government areas, particularly the recent killing of a housewife and her children.
Governor Yusuf highlighted the role of the Kano State Neighbourhood Watch Corps in supporting conventional security agencies and called for closer collaboration with federal security institutions.
He also discussed Kano’s development agenda, emphasizing mega infrastructure projects aimed at stimulating economic growth.
President Tinubu assured the governor of the Federal Government’s commitment to partnering with Kano State to address insecurity and promote sustainable development.
The meeting comes amid speculation about Governor Yusuf’s possible defection from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
