Senator Pam Dachungyang, representing Plateau North, has defected from the Action Democratic Party (ADP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The defection was announced by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during plenary on Thursday.

Dachungyang cited internal challenges within the ADP, including irreconcilable differences and persistent internal wrangling, as reasons for his exit.
