The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is gearing up for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections scheduled for February 21, 2026.

As part of preparations, INEC will conduct a mock accreditation and results upload exercise tomorrow, February 7, 2026, in 289 selected polling units across the FCT.

The mock exercise aims to test accreditation procedures and the results upload process, ensuring a smooth and hitch-free election.

Voters in the selected polling units are encouraged to participate with their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to help fine-tune preparations for the main election.

INEC has assured FCT residents of its readiness to conduct a credible and successful election.

The commission is also working closely with security agencies to ensure voter safety and prevent electoral malpractices.
