Wike expressed optimism that both the Rivers State House of Assembly and Governor Siminalayi Fubara would act responsibly, prioritizing stability and progress over political disagreements.

The crisis intensified after the House of Assembly initiated impeachment proceedings against Fubara, prompting Tinubu to summon Wike and Fubara for talks.

The meeting aimed to broker peace and find a way forward for the state. Wike highlighted Tinubu’s role as a unifying national figure, stressing that his leadership is key to resolving the issue.

He also noted that the president’s intervention is a significant step towards ensuring peace and progress in Rivers State.

The development has sparked interest in the state’s political landscape, with many hoping for a return to normalcy.

As the situation unfolds, stakeholders are watching closely, eager to see how the parties involved will respond to Tinubu’s call for peace and cooperation.
