Zadna Dantani, the PDP candidate for Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) chairmanship, has withdrawn from the election and endorsed APC’s Christopher Maikalangu. Dantani cited “extensive consultations” with family and stakeholders, and thanked FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for his intervention.
This is the second high-profile PDP withdrawal, following Julius Adamu’s decision to step down for APC’s Joshua Musa in Bwari Area Council.
Both moves are seen as significant shifts in the election’s political dynamics.
The FCT Area Council elections are scheduled for February 21, with INEC deploying BVAS and electronic result transmission.
