Super Eagles and Trabzonspor striker, Paul Onuachu has been voted winner of the Best Goal of Matchweek 22 in the Süper Lig following his stunning header against Fenerbahçe.
The award, decided exclusively by fans through polls conducted on the league’s official social media platforms, recognised the Nigerian forward’s powerful aerial finish as the standout goal of the round.
League organisers confirmed the result in a statement, announcing that Onuachu’s strike emerged top in the fan vote for Matchweek 22 of the Trendyol Süper Lig.
Despite Trabzonspor’s narrow 3–2 defeat in the fiercely contested derby, Onuachu’s goal was widely regarded as the defining moment of the encounter. The towering striker showcased his trademark qualities — sharp positioning, aerial strength and clinical execution — in a match filled with intensity and drama.

The recognition further underlines Onuachu’s growing influence in Turkish football. The forward, who recently helped Nigeria secure a bronze medal at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, has been in prolific form at club level this season.
Turkish football analysts have also praised his display against Fenerbahçe. Speaking on the Vole programme, television personality Ali Sunal and former international Metin Tekin described the Nigerian as a constant threat to defenders, highlighting his physical dominance and effectiveness in aerial duels.
Onuachu has now scored 16 league goals in 19 appearances this season, placing him among the leading contenders for the Golden Boot. Notably, six of his goals have come from headers, reinforcing his reputation as one of the most formidable aerial forwards in the league.

Now wearing the captain’s armband, Onuachu has become central to Trabzonspor’s attacking play under coach Fatih Tekke, combining leadership with consistent goal-scoring form.
He will look to maintain his impressive run when Trabzonspor face Gaziantep in their next league outing.
