The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested Sani Yusuf, a high-profile commander of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), in connection with the 2022 Owo church attack that killed over 40 worshippers.

Yusuf, who evaded capture for nearly four years, was arrested in Iguosa community, Edo State, and has confessed to planning and executing the attack, as well as other terrorist activities, including the Suleja military barracks attack and kidnappings in Kaduna State.
