The Super Falcons of Nigeria will face the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in a friendly match at the Military Stadium in Yaoundé on Saturday, as part of their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The two sides will meet again at the same venue next Tuesday.
Head coach Justine Madugu described Cameroon as a strong test for his squad but emphasized that the focus is not solely on winning.

“The key objective is to improve team cohesion and evaluate new players who could provide additional options ahead of WAFCON,” Madugu told the Super Falcons media.
The African champions last defeated Cameroon 2-0 at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta, but Madugu stressed that the upcoming friendlies are more about assessment than results.
“Winning is always the expectation, but it’s not the ultimate goal this time. Our main focus is to assess players, especially the new ones, and see what they can bring to the team,” he said.
The friendlies will provide an opportunity for Madugu to fine-tune strategies and finalize the squad for the continental tournament.
