Iran has launched a drone attack on the US embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, causing a small fire and minor damage.
The Saudi defence ministry reported that two drones hit the embassy compound, with air defence systems intercepting four more targeting the diplomatic quarter.
No casualties were reported, and the embassy building was empty at the time of the attack.
The US State Department has ordered the evacuation of non-emergency personnel and families from several Middle Eastern countries, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Qatar, and Jordan.
US President Donald Trump warned that Washington’s response to the embassy attack would soon be clear.
The attack is part of an escalation of hostilities across the Gulf region, with Iran launching drone and missile attacks on targets in countries hosting American military assets.
This follows joint US-Israeli strikes on Iranian territory, which Iran describes as retaliation.
