Former Chelsea F.C. and Nigeria international Victor Moses made his long-awaited debut in the Kazakhstan Premier League on Monday, featuring for FC Kaisar in their goalless draw against FC Astana.

Moses recently joined Kaisar on a free transfer after his contract with Luton Town F.C. expired during the January transfer window.

His debut had been delayed due to travel complications in the United Arab Emirates amid tensions in the Middle East. However, the former Super Eagles star arrived in Kazakhstan on March 13 and was quickly drafted into the matchday squad.

Wearing the number 11 jersey, Moses’ appearance marked the beginning of a new chapter in a career that has seen him play across several top European leagues.

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner has previously featured for clubs such as Liverpool F.C., Fenerbahçe S.K., and Inter Milan, in addition to his successful spell at Chelsea.

His arrival at Kaisar is considered one of the most high-profile signings in the history of the Kazakh league, with the club banking on his experience and leadership to strengthen the squad
