Security operatives on Monday reportedly stormed the residence of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, in what appeared to be a late-evening raid.
Malami, who had recently been granted bail after spending time in detention over alleged money laundering, had earlier received a visit from prominent chieftains of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), including former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, at his home.
According to reports, the security operatives arrived at his residence shortly after Atiku’s departure.
In a video circulating online, Malami—still dressed in the same attire he wore while hosting Atiku was seen questioning the operatives’ actions and demanding to see a court order authorising the marking of his property.

“Where’s the court order you have to mark my property? Are you trying to embarrass me or what?” he was heard saying.

Further details surrounding the reason for the operation and the identity of the operatives have not yet been officially clarified.
