Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have added a high-profile preseason game against the Indiana Fever as part of their upcoming United States tour ahead of the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
The fixture, confirmed on Thursday, will be played on May 2, 2026, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, marking the third game of the team’s tour.

D’Tigress had earlier scheduled a historic clash against the Los Angeles Sparks in San Diego on April 25, followed by another exhibition game against the Minnesota Lynx in Kansas City on April 27.
The Nigeria Basketball Federation arranged the tour to expose the team to top-level competition as part of preparations for the global tournament.

D’Tigress head into the tour as reigning African champions, having won a record fifth consecutive AfroBasket title in 2025 to secure qualification for the World Cup.
The expanded schedule will see the team compete across three cities against elite opposition, providing valuable experience ahead of the competition.
