Bola Tinubu has appointed Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu as the new Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund.
The appointment was announced on Thursday in a statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga. Aliyu replaces Ahmed Galadima Aminu, who resigned to pursue the 2027 governorship race in Adamawa State.

Until his new role, Aliyu served as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education. The presidency described him as a seasoned academic and administrator with extensive experience in research, education, and institutional leadership.
According to the statement, his appointment reflects the administration’s commitment to strengthening key institutions in the petroleum sector and enhancing human capital development in Nigeria’s energy industry.

The President also renewed the appointment of Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Transmission Company of Nigeria for a second and final term.
Onanuga noted that the renewal followed a performance review, highlighting improvements recorded under Abdulaziz’s leadership, including enhanced grid stability, expansion of transmission capacity, and system modernisation.

Both appointments take immediate effect, with Tinubu urging the appointees to carry out their duties with diligence, integrity, and commitment to national service in line with his administration’s agenda.
