Prominent members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are leading a protest in Abuja, calling for an end to alleged electoral manipulation by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The protest, dubbed “Save Nigeria Democracy,” features notable figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, David Mark, and Rauf Aregbesola.

The protesters are marching through the streets of Abuja, carrying placards with messages like “Hands off our courts,” and are expected to reach the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters.

Atiku Abubakar stated that the protest aims to safeguard Nigeria’s democracy and prevent the establishment of a dictatorship.

The ADC has accused INEC of working with the APC to undermine democracy, citing concerns over the recently amended Electoral Act 2026.

The opposition leaders are demanding amendments to the Act, claiming it will enable electoral manipulation and undermine transparency.
