Sola Giwa, Special Adviser on Transportation to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has resigned from his position in the Lagos State Government.
Giwa announced his resignation in a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) page on Wednesday, describing his time in office as an honour and expressing gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve.
He noted that he contributed to the transformation of the state’s transport system under the THEMES+ Agenda during his tenure.

The former adviser explained that his decision to step down was driven by his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives, representing Lagos Island Federal Constituency II.
According to him, the move marks a new chapter focused on strengthening representation, advancing purposeful legislation, and delivering meaningful impact for his constituents.

Giwa’s resignation signals his transition from an executive role in state government to active participation in national legislative politics.
