CAF President Patrice Motsepe has arrived in Dakar, Senegal, amid rising tensions between Senegal and Morocco over disputes stemming from African football, including the controversial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final.

Upon arrival, Motsepe was welcomed by Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) President Abdoulaye Fall and other officials, according to CAF Media. His visit is expected to include discussions on resolving ongoing issues within the framework of African football governance.

The FSF said Motsepe will be received at the Presidential Palace in Dakar by Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye. He will also hold a press conference addressing the challenges facing African football. Additionally, the CAF chief is scheduled for a symbolic visit to Gorée Island, accompanied by FSF President Fall and CAF Acting Secretary General Samson Adamu.

This visit underscores CAF’s efforts to mediate disputes and strengthen collaboration among African football nations.
