Dominic Frimpong, a 20-year-old Ghanaian footballer, was killed in an armed robbery attack on his team Berekum Chelsea’s bus while returning from a Ghana Premier League fixture against Samartex.
The incident occurred on the Goaso-Bibiani road, where masked men wielding guns and assault rifles opened fire on the bus, striking Frimpong in the head. He later died in hospital.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) expressed profound shock and deep sorrow, offering heartfelt condolences to Frimpong’s family, teammates, and the Berekum Chelsea community. Frimpong was a promising young talent, embodying the spirit of Ghanaian football.
