Co-chaired by President Emmanuel Macron and President William Ruto, the summit will focus on energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, restructuring of the global financing architecture, and climate action.

The president’s participation will reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with African nations and France. Themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” the summit offers a high-level platform for African and French leaders to discuss economic transformation, climate resilience, infrastructure, youth empowerment, technology, and peace-building.

At the end of the Nairobi summit, Tinubu will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, for the annual Africa CEO Forum holding May 14–15.

This year’s forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” is the largest gathering of African private sector leaders, investors, and policymakers. Held in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), it brings together over 2,000 executives and national leaders to discuss accelerating economic transformation through regional integration and cross-border investment.

At both events, President Tinubu will deliver statements on his administration’s reforms to position Nigeria as an investment destination. He will also hold high-level meetings with global and African business leaders.

The president will be accompanied by some ministers and senior aides. He is expected to return to Nigeria after the Rwanda summit.
