ADC Pegs Presidential Nomination Form at N100m, Fixes Primary for May 25, 2026

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released the timetable for its 2026 primary elections, scheduling its presidential primary for May 25, 2026, and pegging the nomination form at N100 million.

In a statement issued by the party’s spokesman, Bolaji Abullahi, the ADC said the timetable outlines guidelines and requirements for the nomination of candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections. He stressed the party’s commitment to internal democracy, orderliness, and strict compliance with the Electoral Act.

According to the schedule, the process is already underway. Collection of application forms runs from April 1 to May 4, 2026. Sale of nomination forms is set for May 5 to May 10, while submission of completed forms will take place between May 11 and May 13.

Screening of aspirants will hold from May 14 to May 15, with results published on May 17. Appeals arising from the screening will be heard between May 18 and May 19, and the final list of cleared aspirants is expected on May 20.

Primary elections for State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate seats will hold simultaneously at the ward level on May 21. Governorship primaries are scheduled for May 22, while the presidential primary is fixed for May 25.

The party’s National Executive Committee will meet on May 26, followed by a Special National Convention on May 27 for final ratification of candidates.

On fees, the ADC set presidential forms at N100 million, governorship at N50 million, Senate at N20 million, House of Representatives at N10 million, and State House of Assembly at N3 million.

The party announced a 50 percent discount for youths and a 25 percent reduction for women and persons with disabilities.

The ADC urged all aspirants, members, and stakeholders to strictly adhere to the timetable and guidelines, noting that it remains committed to providing a credible platform for competent and accountable leadership in the 2027 elections.
