Speaking on the development, the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, advised motorists travelling through Apongbon and Ijora Olopa to make use of Third Mainland Bridge as an alternative route.

Osiyemi clarified that the inbound lane heading towards Lagos Island would remain open to traffic during the rehabilitation period.

He also assured residents and commuters that traffic management personnel and security operatives would be deployed across diversion points and alternative routes to ensure smooth vehicular movement and maintain order throughout the repair works.
