Siminalayi Fubara has reaffirmed his membership of the All Progressives Congress, dismissing reports suggesting he had left the ruling party.
Fubara made the clarification on Wednesday after inspecting the reconstructed Rivers State Psychiatric Hospital, which has been remodelled into a general hospital in Rumuigbo, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The governor described claims circulating on social media about his political affiliation as false, insisting that he remained committed to the APC and its interests.
“I’m a member of the All Progressives Congress, and nothing has changed. People should stop using whatever situation they pick up from social media or their personal interpretation to present me wrongly. I have not gone anywhere. I remain a member of the APC,” Fubara said.

Speaking on the hospital project, the governor explained that the decision to convert the psychiatric hospital into a general hospital followed concerns over inadequate healthcare services in the area.
According to him, residents of Rumuigbo and neighbouring communities previously relied largely on the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital for medical care, which he noted was too far for many people.

Fubara said the project was aimed at improving access to quality healthcare and addressing the medical needs of residents within the community.
He expressed satisfaction with the completion of the project, describing it as part of his administration’s commitment to implementing people-oriented projects across the state.
