Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has announced a 26-man squad for the 2026 Unity Cup and a separate 25-man squad for upcoming international friendly matches against Poland and Portugal.

The squad lists feature a blend of experienced internationals and fresh faces, with seven Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) players earning call-ups for the Unity Cup competition.
Among the domestic players selected are Michael Atata, Aderemi Adeoye and Tosin Oyedokun of Ikorodu United, while Rangers duo Chibueze Oputa and Obinna Igboke were also included. Rivers United’s Elias Ochobi and Shooting Stars’ Ayobami Junior complete the list of NPFL representatives.

Several players also received maiden invitations to the national team setup. Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, Oseni Owen of Plymouth, Femi Azeez of Millwall and highly-rated youngster Zadok Yohanna are among the new faces expected to make their Super Eagles debut.
For the international friendlies against Poland and Portugal, Chelle opted for a more experienced squad as Nigeria seek positive results against strong European opposition.
Goalkeepers selected include Maduka Okoye, Francis Uzoho and Arthur Okonkwo, while Stanley Nwabali was omitted from the squad.

The defensive line features Bruno Onyemaechi, Zaidu Sanusi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Emmanuel Fernandez and Igoh Ogbu.
Captain Wilfred Ndidi leads the midfield contingent alongside Alex Iwobi, Frank Onyeka, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Raphael Onyedika, Tochukwu Nnadi and Alhassan Yusuf.
Nigeria’s attack will be spearheaded by Victor Osimhen and includes Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Paul Onuachu, Akor Adams, Terem Moffi and Oseni Owen.
However, despite his recent impressive performances for Celtic, Kelechi Iheanacho was left out of the squad.
The Unity Cup is expected to provide an opportunity for emerging talents and home-based stars to stake their claim for regular national team places, while the friendlies against Poland and Portugal will offer the Super Eagles valuable preparation ahead of future competitive fixtures.
