The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded another major success in the fight against terrorism after precision air strikes destroyed a terrorist enclave in Yaganari, Gezuwa general area of Borno State.
The operation was carried out on July 10, 2026, by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI following credible intelligence indicating renewed terrorist activities and the concentration of fighters in the area.
Prior to the strikes, NAF conducted intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions, which confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics facilities. The identified targets were subsequently engaged with precision strikes, resulting in the destruction of the enclave, key terrorist infrastructure, and the neutralisation of several fighters.
The Nigerian Air Force said the successful operation further demonstrates the effectiveness of sustained air offensives in weakening terrorist networks, restricting their movement, and preventing their ability to regroup.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Sunday Kelvin Aneke, commended the personnel involved in the operation for their professionalism and commitment.
He reaffirmed the NAF’s determination to continue working alongside ground forces to locate, disrupt, and destroy terrorist elements wherever they operate, stressing that ongoing military efforts would continue until terrorist groups are denied safe havens and their capabilities are degraded.
