Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced fresh price cuts for fuel, lowering both petrol and diesel costs for marketers across Nigeria.
In a statement released on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, the company said the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, dropped to N1,165 per litre from N1,215 per litre. That is a N50 reduction. Automotive Gas Oil, also known as diesel, also fell to N1,570 per litre from N1,650 per litre, a cut of N80 per litre.
The refinery said the adjustment reflects its push to make energy more affordable and improve access to refined products nationwide.
“Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit and Automotive Gas Oil, reaffirming its commitment to providing affordable, high-quality petroleum products to the Nigerian market,” the statement said.
As Africa’s largest refinery, Dangote said it remains focused on stable supply, operational efficiency, and reducing Nigeria’s reliance on fuel imports. The company added that it will continue to pass on efficiency gains to consumers and businesses whenever market conditions allow.
The new prices take effect immediately at the refinery’s loading gantry.
