During the meeting, the two leaders likely discussed matters of national importance, including security, economic development, and cultural preservation. As a revered traditional ruler, the Alaafin plays a significant role in promoting peace and unity among the Yoruba people and beyond.

Notably, President Tinubu was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima during the monarch’s coronation ceremony, where he charged the Alaafin to promote unity among the Yoruba people and contribute to national cohesion.

The President’s message emphasized the importance of traditional leaders in fostering national unity and promoting development.

The visit also highlights the enduring relationship between the Nigerian government and traditional institutions. Traditional rulers like the Alaafin of Oyo play a vital role in preserving cultural heritage and providing guidance to their subjects.

By engaging with the monarch, President Tinubu demonstrates his administration’s commitment to collaborating with traditional leaders to drive progress and development in Nigeria.

The meeting between the Alaafin and President Tinubu is a positive development that could lead to increased cooperation between the government and traditional institutions in addressing the country’s challenges and promoting national development.
