The daughter of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has debunked reports circulating on social media that the 66-year-old actor has died.
The death rumour surfaced on Tuesday after a Facebook user claimed that one of Ogogo’s daughters, Haleemah Taiwo, had announced his death following his reported rejection by several hospitals.
However, Ogogo’s daughter, Lima Taiwo, dismissed the claim as false in a post on Instagram.

“This is false!!!!!!! This is false!!!!! This is false!!!!! This is false!!! THIS IS FAKE… PLEASE STOP SPREADING FAKE NEWS,” she wrote.
The clarification came a day after Lima and her sister, Kira Taiwo, separately appealed for medical assistance for their father, who they said was battling stage-four cancer.
In an emotional video posted on Instagram on Monday, Lima said the actor’s health had deteriorated and appealed to medical professionals and hospitals capable of treating cancer to assist the family.

She said the family only became aware of the severity of his condition about three weeks earlier, adding that they were seeking medical assistance rather than financial donations.
Kira, in a separate video, also disclosed that their father had stage-four cancer and claimed that the hospital treating him had informed the family that it could no longer administer chemotherapy.
She appealed to cancer specialists, hospitals and anyone with access to appropriate medical care to come forward and assist the actor.
The sisters’ appeals have since attracted widespread concern and support from members of the public and colleagues in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Ogogo is a veteran of the Yoruba film industry, with a career spanning more than four decades and appearances in more than 300 films.
