The General Officer Commanding 3 Division, Nigerian Army, and Commander of Operation Enduring Peace, Major General Maxwell Dangana, has moved the operation’s tactical headquarters from Jos to Mangu, Plateau State, following the deadly attack on Bin-Per community.
The attack, which occurred on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, reportedly left 23 people, including women and children, dead.
Dangana arrived in Mangu on Wednesday with additional troops, equipment and other operational resources to directly coordinate security operations and assess the situation.
The Army has also launched Operation Hard Knot as part of efforts to strengthen security and prevent further attacks in Mangu and surrounding communities.
