The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE is inviting Nigerians in with a low entry point as it prepares to list on the Nigerian Exchange.
Aliko Dangote, CEO of Dangote Group, announced on Monday in Lagos that the refinery’s proposed Initial Public Offering will have a minimum subscription of just 10 ordinary shares, costing N5,250 in total.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dangote said the IPO will offer 4.1 billion ordinary shares at N525 per share. Each share carries a nominal value of $0.000013. The company aims to raise a little over N2 trillion from the offer.
But the size of the raise isn’t the only point, according to Dangote.
“This IPO is designed so that drivers, our cooks, our servants, our managers, and everybody can have a chance to own a part of it,” he said. “It is the IPO for the people.”
He added that the funds will go toward expanding the refinery’s operations, and also toward helping subscribers build long-term savings through investment ownership.
The listing is expected to be one of the biggest on the NGX this year, and Dangote positioned it as a deliberate effort to spread wealth beyond institutional investors.
The offer details were disclosed during the event in Lagos on September 7, 2026.
