Nigeria President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the formation of new boards for the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).

This was revealed in a statement on Friday by the presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, the appointments signify a strategic move towards bolstering regulatory bodies.

  1. Mr. Mairiga Aliyu Katuka as Chairman
  2. Mr. Emomotimi Agama as Director-General
  3. Frana Chukwuogor as Executive Commissioner (Legal and Enforcement)
  4. Mr. Bola Ajomale as Executive Commissioner (Operations)
  5. Mrs. Samiya Hassan Usman as Executive Commissioner (Corporate Services)
  6. Mr. Lekan Belo as Non-Executive Commissioner
  7. Mr. Kasimu Garba Kurfi as Non-Executive Commissioner

Similarly, the NAICOM board comprises distinguished members:

  1. Ms. Halima Kyari as Chairperson
  2. Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin as Commissioner for Insurance
  3. Mr. Olawoye Gam-Ikon as Deputy Commissioner (Technical Operations)
  4. Dr. Usman Ankara Jimada as Deputy Commissioner (Finance & Administration)
  5. Dr. Miriam Kene Kachikwu as Member
  6. Mr. Adeniyi Olusegun Fabikun as Member
  7. Mr. Umar Khalifa Mohammed as Member

The President has called upon the newly appointed individuals to leverage their “wealth of experience and competence” to enhance the operations of these commissions and contribute to the nation’s progress.
