The 2023 Nations Cup’s Highest Goal Scorer, Emilio Nsue has retired from International duty after a stellar performance in Coted’Ivoire.

The Equatorial Guinea player who scored five goals to emerge as the Top Scorer in the 2023 Nations Cup in Coted’Ivoire announced his retirement with immediate effect after Equatorial Guinea’s football authority, FEGUIFUT suspended him for misconduct. Nsue had earlier made allegations against football officials in Equatorial Guinea accusing them of corruption and unethical practices. He complained about the disparity between the sacrifices the players made on the pitch and the alleged mismanagement of funds by the association officials.
