Arsenal fans paid tribute to the late British-Nigerian teenage fan, Daniel Anjorin, who tragically lost his life to a sword-wielding attacker in London earlier this week.

During their match against Bournemouth on Saturday, the Gunners halted play in the 14th minute, with fans joining in applause to honor the memory of the 14-year-old Anjorin, a devoted supporter whose favorite player was Bukayo Saka. The Emirates Stadium paid homage to Daniel with his image displayed on the scoreboard, alongside banners bearing the message “R.I.P Daniel” scattered throughout the venue.

Daniel was a student at Bancroft’s private school in Woodford Green, the same school attended by Grace O’Malley-Kumar, a victim of a recent tragic incident in Nottingham.

The young Arsenal fan was fatally injured while on his way to school, attacked by an assailant wielding what appeared to be a Samurai-type sword. Police intervened swiftly, using a taser to subdue and arrest the suspect, a 36-year-old man who remains in custody under suspicion of murder. The suspect, previously unknown to authorities, has not been publicly identified.

The independent school attended by Daniel expressed profound shock and sorrow in a statement released on Wednesday, mourning the loss of their student.
