Kern disclosed this at the unveiling of StarCare International Hospital, a leading provider of primary and speciality care operations in Ikeja, Lagos State, on Monday, while assuring India’s commitment to supporting Nigeria in various endeavours.

He said the launching of the hospital in Lagos was marking a giant step in Nigeria’s healthcare landscape.

The ceremony was attended by the monarch of Ikate Kingdom in Surulere, Oba Lateef Adams; the  Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fayoade Adegoke, and President, Indian Cultural Association, Mr. Sanjay Jain.

In his remarks, the Chairman and Managing Director of StarCare International Hospital, Dr. Ashraff Mohammad, vowed to advance health care system in Nigeria.

Among the plans to achieving that is the introduction of advanced medical facilities and cutting-edge technology, alongside a team of internationally trained and experienced doctors from India and Nigeria.

He expressed that surgical procedures such as minimally invasive surgeries, laparoscopic surgeries, laser proctology surgeries, and  laser spine surgeries would have a great impact improving the healthcare system.

He further highlighted include endoscopic spine surgeries, cosmetic gynaecology surgeries, bariatric (weight loss) surgeries, and arthroscopy (sports medicine) procedures—services -rarely available in the country.

He, however, promised Nigerians that expert consultants would always be available at the hospital to ensure continuous access to quality care and service.

He led tour of the facility, showcasing its state-of-the-art infrastructure, including the Outpatient Department (OPD) complex, inpatient wards, private rooms, ICU-NICU complex, OT complex, and labour rooms.

“By elevating the quality of care to international standards, we aim to diminish the need for Nigerians to seek medical treatments abroad in countries like the USA, UK, or India.

“StarCare is set to be a cornerstone in Nigeria’s medical landscape, ensuring that top-tier healthcare is accessible to everyone here at home,” he said.

Meanwhile, Lagos CP, Adegoke commended facility and expressed readiness of partnership between the hospital and Lagos police command in area of healthcare provision.
