The French prosecutor’s office announced on Saturday that Egyptian Olympic wrestler, Mohamed Ibrahim Kishto, who had been arrested in Paris on sexual harassment charges, has been released, with all charges dropped.

In a press release, the Paris prosecutor’s office stated that the 26-year-old athlete’s detention order was “lifted, and all proceedings terminated without further measures because the crime was not serious enough.”
The public prosecutor’s office confirmed that “The precautionary custody was lifted today, and the investigation was closed due to insufficient evidence.”
Following his release from police custody, Kishto was transferred to Charles de Gaulle Airport to return to Cairo on Saturday. The Egyptian Olympic Committee also issued a statement, noting that the investigation into the sexual harassment allegations had been closed. The decision to release Kishto was made after reviewing surveillance footage of the alleged incident.
