Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, confirmed the abduction in a statement on Sunday. He clarified that initial reports claiming a “countless number of students” were taken were exaggerated and misleading. DSP Ndukwe revealed that police responded swiftly to a tip-off about the attack and successfully rescued two of the five abducted students. However, three students remain missing.

The police have launched an intensive operation to locate the remaining victims and apprehend the kidnappers. Authorities have assured the public that all efforts are being made to ensure the safe return of the missing students and bring the perpetrators to justice.
