The students’ body led by the Union’s president, Aweda Bolaji, released an internal memorandum following the meeting with the school management on Saturday.

The memo reads, “At the meeting with University Management yesterday 30th of August, 2024, the following resolution was reached:

“The deadline for the school fees payment earlier slated for 4th September has been extended by three weeks.

“In same vein, the first semester examinations scheduled to start 2nd September 2024 have also been moved by 3 weeks.

“In consideration of the foregoing, the union suspends the protest earlier embarked on.

“While the decision of the governing council of the University on school fees cannot be changed, we enjoined to make the three weeks extension to sort their fees and prepare for the examination.”

The students started the protest on July 16 and 17 to press home their demands against the school fee increment, demanding the reversal of fees.

However, the approval of the fees by the governing council spurred the students to begin another protest, which commenced on Thursday and is now on the third day.

The school management, nonetheless, released a memo earlier today telling the students to vacate their hostels before 2 pm.
