The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of Elizabeth Uruakpa, a senior nursing officer at Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Ilishan Remo, in Ikenne Local Government Area.
The incident occurred near the new market in Ilishan, when suspected kidnappers blocked her Honda CRV with an unregistered red Toyota Camry and forcibly took her away.
Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the abduction in a statement from the state capital, Abeokuta. “A distress call was received around 5:10 PM that armed men had abducted Elizabeth Uruakpa,” she said.
The police have mobilized the anti-kidnapping unit, launching a search operation to rescue Uruakpa. “Efforts are being intensified to ensure her safe release. We are combing the area, and the Officer in Charge of Anti-Kidnapping is actively pursuing leads,” Odutola added.
