President Bola Tinubu has appointed Ojukaye Flag Amachree as the new Director of Energy Security in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), signaling the administration’s commitment to ensuring a stable and secure energy supply for Nigeria.
The appointment was announced in a statement by Zakari Mijinyawa, ONSA’s Head of Strategic Communications. He emphasized that this move aligns with President Tinubu’s focus on addressing energy security and tackling supply chain challenges.
“In his new role, Amachree will lead key national energy security initiatives, enhance community involvement in safeguarding Nigeria’s energy resources, and support both short- and long-term energy sustainability,” the statement noted.
Amachree will collaborate with government ministries, security agencies, energy regulators, international partners, and local communities to develop solutions to Nigeria’s energy challenges. His background in Management and his training at Lagos Business School position him to effectively steer this critical unit.
The newly established Energy Security Directorate is responsible for coordinating policies, protecting critical infrastructure, managing data, providing risk advisory services, and building strategic alliances within the energy sector. National Security Adviser Malam Nuhu Ribadu congratulated Amachree on his appointment.
