The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said its officers have uncovered one illegal crude oil refining site in Abia State.
The feat was achieved by its Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad.
It also arrested five suspects operating on a large expanse of land and destroyed metallic coven for illegal refining in the state.
Crude oil theft has denied Nigeria huge revenue over the years, resulting in low crude oil production in oil-rich regions, especially in the Niger Delta.
