The Kebbi State Government has ordered the immediate closure of the College of Health Technology, Jega, following a violent student protest. The decision was announced by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Isah Abubakar Tunga, during a press briefing, citing the need to prevent further unrest.

The protest, which erupted over issues such as lack of course accreditation, poor sanitation, and dissatisfaction with the college’s leadership, escalated as students attacked the Provost, setting fire to his house and vandalizing his car.
