The Lagos State Police Command has detained Salisu Mustapha, a dog owner, after his dogs allegedly attacked and killed a security guard.

According to reports, Mustapha failed to properly secure his dogs, allowing them to escape and attack the guard on duty at Pinnock Estate, Ilasan, Lekki.

NIGERIA: Police Arrest Three Over Murder of Ex-Ogun Broadcaster, Security Guard

The incident, which took place on November 5, was confirmed by the command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a post on his verified X account. Hundeyin stated that the police have seized the dogs and are conducting an in-depth investigation into the case.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olanrewaju Ishola, assured the public that the investigation will be thorough and justice will be served.
