The grand finale of the 3rd Afinni Unity Cup is set for Sunday, November 10, 2024, with defending champions, Ricca/Odunfa taking on challengers ,Araromi at the Mobolaji Johnson Onikan Arena, Lagos.

Ricca/Odunfa, who won last year’s title with a 2-0 victory over Carrena at Campus Mini Stadium, will aim to retain their crown, while Araromi is determined to dethrone them in what promises to be a thrilling showdown.
The third-place match, featuring Anikantanmo/Swamp against Okepopo/Amuto, will kick off at 11 a.m., preceding the highly anticipated final scheduled for 2 p.m.

The tournament which was established by Honourable Lanre Afinni, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly Representing Lagos Island Constituency to bring sixteen communities in Lagos Island together in Grassroot Football. This year’s tournament, themed “The Price Before the Prize,” has spotlighted emerging talent, with scouts identifying promising players from various communities to help launch their football careers.
The Afinni Unity Cup has drawn significant support from dignitaries in Lagos and surrounding areas, including Honourable Muibi Alade Folawiyo, Chairman of Lagos Island East, Honourable Mobolaji Ogunlende Abubakre, Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, and Mr. Hassan Taiwo, Chairman of the Lagos State Association of Coaches. Fans from each team have brought unmatched energy to the matches, making this edition memorable.
As the third edition concludes, fans can look forward to performances by top Nigerian artists, including 9ice and King Sule Alao Malaika, adding a musical celebration to mark the tournament’s end.
