Pastor Bolaji Idowu, the Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre (HICC), has strongly refuted allegations linking him to fraudulent real estate activities and money laundering, calling the claims “unfounded and misleading.”
The controversy erupted on Tuesday when reports surfaced suggesting that Idowu had been detained by the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Abuja for his supposed involvement in a real estate scam. However, speaking out on the matter during his Next Level Prayer programme on Wednesday morning, Pastor Idowu categorically denied any involvement in such activities.
He clarified that he does not own any property in Nigeria, except for one that is publicly known. He also emphasized that he does not engage in buying or selling properties. “I do not have any property in Nigeria. The only property I have in Nigeria is one everyone knows. I do not sell or buy properties. I am not in that business,” he stated.
The pastor further addressed allegations of financial misconduct, inviting transparency regarding his financial dealings. “My accounts are public accounts. Go and check if I ever received billions into my accounts,” he said, challenging anyone to verify the claims.
Pastor Idowu expressed his surprise at the accusations, noting that he only became aware of the allegations through the media, just like the public. “Some of these things, as you are reading them, I am also reading them,” he added, reinforcing his stance that the allegations are false.
