President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presentation of the N47.9 trillion 2025 budget to the joint session of the National Assembly has been postponed by a day.
Initially set for Tuesday, December 17, the address is now scheduled for Wednesday, December 18, 2024 according to The Punch Newspapers.
The rescheduling was confirmed by senior management staff of the National Assembly, with an official statement expected soon.
Last Thursday, Senate President Godswill Akpabio had announced the original date and venue during plenary. He disclosed that the event would take place in the House of Representatives Chamber, with plenary starting at 10:30 a.m. to allow senators to convene in the Red Chamber before attending the joint session.
This delay comes after President Tinubu submitted the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper (2025–2027) to both legislative chambers last month, forming the basis of the proposed budget.
While an official reason for the adjustment has not been provided, further details are expected shortly.
