NIGERIA : Governor Sanwo-Olu Celebrates First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on Honorary Doctorate Degrees

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on receiving two honorary doctorate degrees from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) and Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.

FUTO awarded the First Lady an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Management, Honoris Causa, while OAU conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Public Administration.

In a statement shared via his official X account on Tuesday, December 17, Governor Sanwo-Olu lauded the First Lady’s dedication to service, leadership, and nation-building, calling the honors well-deserved.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Lagos State, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you, Your Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on the well-deserved conferment of these prestigious honorary doctorate degrees, recognizing your remarkable contributions to our nation,” the statement read.

The Governor highlighted that the awards symbolize the First Lady’s enduring legacy of public service and her impactful efforts in promoting women and youth empowerment, as well as community development.

“Your achievements inspire millions of Nigerians, especially women, to believe in their ability to lead and make a difference,” he added.

Sanwo-Olu expressed pride in her legacy, stating that the recognition is a celebration not just for her but for Lagos State and the entire nation.

“May these honors serve as a beacon for even greater accomplishments in your continued service to our dear country. Once again, congratulations, Your Excellency. I pray you continue to enjoy God’s grace, strength, and wisdom as you inspire and uplift our nation,” the statement concluded.
