President Bola Tinubu has approved an extension of the tenure of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Comptroller-General (CG), Kemi Nanna Nandap to December 2026.

The announcement was made on Monday, March 31, in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, Nandap’s leadership has brought notable advancements in border management, modernization of immigration processes, and national security.

President Tinubu praised the CG for her “exemplary leadership” and urged her to remain committed to the Service’s strategic goals, which align with his administration’s vision. He also reaffirmed his government’s dedication to supporting the NIS in safeguarding Nigeria’s borders and ensuring safe, legal, and orderly migration.
Nandap joined the NIS on October 9, 1989, and steadily rose through the ranks. Before she was appointed CG on February 21, 2024, she served as Deputy Comptroller-General (DCG) in charge of the Migration Directorate.
She succeeded Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, whose tenure ended on February 29. Initially appointed to serve until August 31, 2025, Nandap’s extension signals continued confidence in her leadership.
