Kenyans have taken to social media to express their views after the Kenya Space Agency (KSA) denied reports that it had sent a compensation demand to India regarding a 500kg space object that fell in Makueni County.
Residents of Mukuku village in Makueni were left in shock and confusion when a mysterious metallic ring-shaped object, which was later identified as rocket debris, fell on the afternoon of December 30, 2024.
Earlier on Friday, January 3, rumors surfaced suggesting that Kenya had formally requested compensation from India, claiming the debris belonged to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). However, the KSA quickly refuted these claims, clarifying that no such demand had been made.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many Kenyans expressing their opinions on the potential implications of the mysterious object’s fall and the ongoing debate surrounding space debris.
