Authorities have re-arrested Lovemore Musoyi, a notorious fugitive from Zimbabwe, who was found hiding in the mountains in the Sekhukhune District.
Musoyi, who had been on the run after escaping police custody, faces over 10 serious charges, including murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, house and business robberies, kidnapping, assault, stock theft, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. These crimes were committed in areas including Elandskraal, Motetema, Dennilton, and Rakgoadi.

According to Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, Musoyi was captured on Friday, January 3, 2025, in the Rakgoadi policing area. The arrest was a result of a joint operation between the police and private security forces. An unlicensed firearm was also confiscated during the operation.
Limpopo Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, praised the collaborative effort that led to Musoyi’s capture.
“This successful operation underscores the importance of teamwork between law enforcement and private security in ensuring the safety of our communities,” said Hadebe.
Musoyi is expected to appear in court next week, where he will face multiple charges, including escaping from lawful custody.
