In a bold and successful rescue operation, police operatives attached to the Imo State Command liberated four kidnapped hostages on Saturday.
The operation was carried out after the police received a distress call reporting the abduction of four persons in Umuokanne, Ohaji Local Government Area of Imo State.
According to Force spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi, the police operatives quickly sprang into action, locating the criminal hideout and engaging the kidnappers in a fierce gun battle.
Two of the kidnappers were neutralized during the exchange, and the four hostages were safely rescued.
The police also recovered a cache of weapons, including one Ak-47 rifle, one Ak-47 magazine, and 21 rounds of live 7.62mm ammunition.
